The Award of Excellence in the Commercial category was awarded to Pinkerton & Laws for the Homewood Suites Hotel project recently completed in Downtown Huntsville, Alabama.  The Hotel is part of the new $100 million Twickenham development that is a “Live, Work, Play” downtown redevelopment project. The Homewood Suites serves as the first anchor among many other elements that include a Publix Grocery, restaurants, office spaces, two multi-level parking decks, and 230 units of market rate multi-family housing.

The Hotel project exemplified true TEAM work among multiple individual projects being built at the same time on the same city block.  The EIC award was received by Joe Bellantoni and Grant Ward of Pinkerton & Laws, Tom Hunt of PHD Hotels and Matt Butler, the lead Architect for the Hotel project.

The Excellence in Construction (EIC) award was presented to Pinkerton & Laws in June at The Westin Buckhead in Atlanta. The project was evaluated by a panel of construction industry experts on complexity, attractiveness, unusual challenges, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and budget.  “The Excellence in Construction Program” showcases the most outstanding projects built by ABC of Georgia members,” said Bill Anderson, ABC of Georgia President. “It demonstrates how cooperation among the entire construction team results in the most successful projects.”
